Yesterday, February 27, 2009, we had a double whammy: First President Obama confirmed what we reported on January 17, 2009 the true reason for the Iraq war and Second: Rush Limbaugh was awarded the Defender of the Constitution Award by the CPAC crowd. Next, I came across an FBI flier looking for information concerning an apparent EXTREME RIGHT WING group, called the Defenders of the Constitution. I am serious. Lets start with Obama addressing Marines at Camp LeJeune. What he said confirms clearly what was obvious after former Bush Treasury secretary said for a long time, namely that Bush planned the invasion into Iraq two weeks after his inauguration. and Suskind wrote a book about it. Or differently worded, Bush didnt like Husseins mustache and had his speech writers invent a reason why we should invade Iraq and sacrifice the lives of thousands of our own people and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. I begin to wonder whether sacrificing our people is the banner ad of Republicans. Rush Limbaugh recently said that he hoped Obama would fail and Tom Delay agreed. You remember Tom Delay, he was the Republican Majority Leader from 2003 through 2005 when he was indicted on money laundering charges and resigned, the case still dragging on as we speak thanks to the Bushies delaying tactics Though according to Keith Olbermann of MSNBC North Carolina Governor Mark Sanford said that anyone who wants Obama to fail is an idiot. The World Citizens for Human Rights Defenders project was developed by the AI Belgium Youth Programme. It is framed by the Global Human Rights Strategy, the International Youth Strategy and the ethical principles of the organisation. It aims at sensitising the Belgian youth to the activities of Human Rights Defenders and at protecting them through the creation of communication networks between Belgian schools and their respecticve NGOs The project was made up of five groups. The third group met Gégé Katana from SOFAD in Katana (DRC) between july 23rd and August 1st 2008. The addressed the issue of sexual violence and womens rights in areas of conflict. This film was produced by and about students and Human Rights defenders actively involved in the project ‘World Citizens for Human Rights Defenders’, developed and supervised by the Youth Programme of the Amnesty Belgian section (French speaking). The project aims at protecting HRDs through the creation of communication networks between Belgian students and their respective NGOs. It encourages the students to develop their own projects to promote the work of their partner HRD. The project was launched in September 2006 and distributed to institutional partners in the educational field calling for project applications to work with NGOs / HRDs across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. 35 student groups (around 400 individuals) sent in applications and for over a year they regularly communicated with their partner NGO /HRD … Video Rating: 5 / 5
